《永別了，武器》（一譯《戰(zhàn)地春夢》）是海明威的一部半自傳體小說，表現(xiàn)了戰(zhàn)爭的荒謬、虛妄和非理性。美國志愿軍戰(zhàn)士亨利在意大利前線負傷，住院期間得到英國護士凱瑟琳的細心看護，二人產(chǎn)生感情。一次亨利在撤退途中被意軍誤認為是德國的奸細而遭逮捕，在等待處決時伺機走脫，歷盡千辛萬險與凱瑟琳重聚，遂一同逃往瑞士。二人度過一段短暫的幸福生活，后凱瑟琳因骨盆過小，難產(chǎn)而死。

ERNEST HEMINGWAY（1899-1961），American author。Between the mid-igzos and the mid-ig50s，he produced most oflus work，and in 1954 he won the Nobel Prize in Literature。 Hemingway’s fiction was successful because the characters he presented exhibited authenticity that resonated with his audience。Many of his works are classics of American literature。The most famous of Hemingway’s novels are The Sun Also Rises （1926），A Farewell to Arms（1929），The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber（1935），F(xiàn)or -Whom the Bell Tolls（1940），and The Old Man and the Sea（1950）。
